At all of our facilities, miner uptime has improved due to a reduction in curtailment incidents and heat-management issues. We are continuing to work with the on-site technicians to troubleshoot the small number of miners that remain offline.

Please note the structure used below for our weekly Compass updates:

  • Facility updates: updates on any facility changes, including moving miners between locations, downtime, or general information about one of Compass’s partner facilities
  • Deployment updates: updates on current deployments from manufacturers to Compass hosting locations
  • Relocation updates: updates on miners moving from one Compass Mining facility to another

Facility Updates

Indiana 1/2: Bitmain technicians have completed most of the hash board repairs onsite. The repaired miners are back online in their respective racks. However, some miners could not be repaired due to the unavailability of parts. The Bitmain technicians will be back next week at the facility to continue fixing the remaining units.

Ontario: We've made significant headway in improving heat management & airflow at Ontario. The facility has kept 94% of miners hashing consistently for over two weeks. We are closely collaborating with the on-site technicians to identify and troubleshoot the remaining miners.

Oklahoma: We have received confirmation that the required part (Power Distribution Unit) has been shipped from China. As soon as the part arrives at the facility, our team will work on replacing the faulty PDU. Meanwhile, the onsite technicians will continue repairing and diagnosing units unaffected by the faulty PDUs.

Texas 1: Per the latest update from the utility provider, repairs at the substation are expected to be completed this week. We have temporarily suspended the billing for all affected units while the issue is ongoing.

Texas 3: The facility experienced a partial outage last week due to a faulty relay at the substation, which resulted in 50% of the miners being impacted. However, we're happy to report that a permanent fix has been implemented, and the facility is now fully operational.

Texas 5: We're currently facing a delay in miner troubleshooting due to a backlog of units that require repair and diagnostics. However, we're taking steps to address this issue. Our facility operations team has flown down to the facility to work with the Texas 5 on-site team for a few days, which has helped us reduce the backlog. We're seeing improvements, and we'll continue to push for faster resolution for miners needing troubleshooting at Texas 5.

Curtailment & Outage Trends: While facilities still perform power curtailments to balance the load on the grid, the duration and frequency of the curtailments have significantly decreased. Apart from curtailments, facilities also experience outages for electrical issues, internet outages, or regular maintenance, which results in downtime for our customers. Here is an overview of all curtailments and outages at our facilities:

We are pleased to report that there have been no outages or curtailments in the past two weeks at our Indiana 1 & 2, Manitoba 2-9, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio 2 & 3, Oklahoma, and Texas 5 facilities.

Deployment Updates

Please submit a ticket request if you have any questions or concerns.

Bundle orders

Next Generation Bundles: A batch of 100 XPs will be deployed in the coming week, reducing the XP deployment backlog to under 150 units. We'll start working on the final batch of units once this batch is up and running.

Turnkey orders

Antminer S19j Pro+ 120TH: Hashrate for turnkey units can be directed to customer pool accounts within 48 hours of purchase. S19j Pro+ Turnkey miners are now available in Texas 3 and Ohio 2. Ohio 2 has seen a significant interest in these units. We are shipping more S19j Pro+ units to Ohio 2 for turnkey sales before stock runs out.

Whatsminer M50S++: M50S++ units in Minnesota and Nebraska are available on the website for immediate deployment.

Future Deployments

S19k Pro: Due to a minor shipping delay, the S19k Pro units did not arrive in time for deployment. However, all customers have been deployed on temp miners to ensure they receive the same amount of hashrate, if not more, on the promised online date. The shipment of S19k Pro units is expected to arrive in 2 weeks, and the units will be deployed immediately.

Relocation Updates

Texas 4

Miners cleaned and tested at the Washington service center are being redeployed to different facilities in small batches each week. Customers will be receiving an update once their miner has been successfully redeployed.

S19 XP units: The DSC team will continue clearing the remaining XP backlog. These miners will gradually return online as they are shipped to facilities for redeployment.

Non-XP units: An estimated 1200 units have been relocated successfully and are now hashing at a new facility. The remaining 4000 units are now at the Washington service center for ultrasonic cleaning, testing, and repair. We are currently working on ramping up our staff at the service center to meet our target of processing all miners by the end of this year.
